basic use of scheduling board

I am new to Dynamics 365 Field Service application and need to know the basic steps to follow to schedule a Work Order that was created from a case, and then be able to complete the job and close the case. Is there anywhere I can find a step-by-step guide?

I have tried creating a case, converting to a work order, scheduling the work order and then attempted to change the status of the booking to in progress and / or complete so I could then close the case.

The videos I have watched on how to use the scheduling board assume you know how the system works and what steps are needed and only talk about the scheduling piece.

Every time I try to change the booking status inside the scheduling board, I get an error saying it is already set by the resource booking, and that is what I thought I was changing.

Any assistance or advice how to learn the system would be appreciated. I have been through many of the training selections and none have answered the above question.
