Hi,

Can you someone let me know what is the per user session bandwidth required for the Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Rich Client to access the AOS. In System Requirements it states 100 Mbps, i suppose its not per user bandwidth. i wanted to calculate if 200 users are accessing from a site what should be the Network WAN link capacity.

Regards

Sam

    Hi Sam

From my experience, if you don't use Terminal Server or Citrix, the latency must be greater than 10 ms otherwise the system is very slow.

However, I suggest to use a Terminal Server or Citrix for the WAN access.

    Hi

In the last days I have talked with Microsoft.

I asked also more info about Wan AX connection.

So, the Microsoft engineer suggest me to handle minimum 40 kbps for remote desktop per user.

    I hope this help you

    Hi Denis,

Thanks a lot for the replies. 40kbps for Remote Desktop, thanks for the details. Our planned set up is to roll-out Rich Client (Dynamics AX 2012 R2) to all the business users, in this scenario i am interested in knowing the Rich Client bandwidth usage per user. Will it also be also 40kbps or will it be more? please guide.

    Regards

    Sam

    Hi Sam

From my experience, AX Rich Client over wan connections, require at least 200 kbps per user.

Also, consider to compress data between clients and AOS.

Thank you verymuch Denis. That answers my question perfectly. Thanks again for the compression tip as well. I am happy now as our current network capacity should suffice the roll-out. Have a great day.
