It really depends on the business decision.

If the company wants to have a new Quote No for every quote, you have two options :

    1) You need to create a new quote and archive the old one.

    2) You archive the quote, and modify the existing one. Every time you print the quote, it will check if there is an archive and it will add suffix number to it.

If the company wants to have the same Quote No, just modify existing one. Archive first if you need history and want the ability to restore quote.

For the purpose of analysis history, you should create new sales quotation instead of the sales quotation that have been rejected.

I agree what everone have suggested. It Depends on how Business (Customer) want to handle this but below are my thoughts -

    1. One you print quote and send it your customer and they reject it do these actions -

    > Archive Sales Quote.

    > Do Changes as required and reprint it.

    Two Benefits -

    1. You will not use multiple quotes numbers for same quote.

    2. You will have multiple quotes which are obsolete and you don't want to use them.

    3. If customers askes for old quote you can restore the archived version of the quote.

    Hope it makes sense.

Mr. Aman has suggested you an appropriate answer. Now, coming to your related query of which option is better, I would say that both options are equally important based on the client's scenario. If the Customer specifically wishes to get the requested changes in the same quote (i.e. Quote with same Document/Quote No) you need to go with the Option 1. Else, you can go with any of the mentioned method based on your ease.

Now, I believe that you intent to ask one more query as per your posted question. But, the second part is not really clear. Please elaborate.

Thanks @Aman Saxena  Which is better one from the above answer and when we use multiple quotes to a customer.

You have 2 option . 1st Option is you just open the Sales Quote (which is rejected by the customer), reopen it and make the necessary changes and again send it to the customer. Once it is approved then convert this Sales Quote into the Sales Order.

2nd Option. Simply create the new Sales Quote and once it's approved convert it into the Sales Order.
