SSIS for two way data integration with Oracle.

We are migrating to AX from oracle based system. We have many .NET, Pro*c, SQL and ASP application that are using customers and projects in Oracle system as of now. We will migrate Customers and Projects in to AX going forward but we have so many application that still need to connect to AX. Will it be possible to have SSIS running on AX sql server updating the tables in Oracle with customers and projects info so we don't have to change all these applications? Also does SSIS updates data back from Oracle to SQL server? Because some of the .NET applications might change the value in Projects.

None of this applications creates any new customers or projects. They just updates or read existing customers and projects.

Please help me out to choose correct solution.

Thanks

You already have another thread with the same question. Discussing the same thing in several places usually leads to confusion and duplicate effort. I suggest closing this thread and keeping the older one, which already has answers.

Martin, I am sorry for the confusion. Whole reason I opened this thread because my title confused everyone in other thread. We all started talking data migration while I really meant to be data integration with existing applications. Huge difference. Appreciate your feedback.

In this scenario I suggest you should implement DMF

in this case you don't need to access any web services from legacy app

from your legacy app you need to generate the data as per template provided by DMF entity

and a batch job in AX will execute the DMF processing group which will upload the data dynamics AX

DMF will ensure that all the business logic implementation

Please verify and let me know if you need any support for this solution using DMF

mnrami, I don't agree with your explanation, for several reasons:

    • The question is the same. If your intention was change the title, let's change the title instead of creating a new thread.
    • You actually got answers about integration. For example, my own answer was purely about integration, addressing your description and not the thread title.
    • Your new thread doesn't contain previous answers, so we would have to make them again or to ignore this thread completely. Neither is useful. Even if people interpreted your question incorrectly and you had to clarify it, it's an extremely valuable context. Again, because the question is the same, the problems with interpretation would be the same and the clarification would be missing here.

Therefore I replaced migration with integration in the original thread's title and I'm locking this one.
