Expected Real Time journey behavior when Contact no longer matches segment criteria

In testing, I noticed that a Contact who matched the critiera for a segment when they started the journey completed all steps even though they exited the segment partway through the journey.
 
Do we need to stipulate exit criteria in order to end the journey early, or should Contacts not complete the journey if they are removed from the entry segment partway through?

I would have assumed the latter, but not sure if this is a bug related to segments and Real Time or an expected feature.

    Hi Duncan,

    If a Contact meets the initial segment criteria and started down the journey, they will continue along the journey even if they no longer meet that segment criteria, depending on the journey exit settings you have set:
