Management Reporter Web Viewer same report ID

Posted on by 630

We recently decided to start using the Web Viewer rather than the Report Viewer, so we would not have to re-install Report Viewer for new versions, new PCs, etc.  I set up folders on our server for each business unit, and a folder for each year and each month.  My thought was that if I ran the report for August and put the link in the 201908Aug folder, then I could run the report for September and put it in the 201909Sep, end users would be able to see the whole years worth of each report.  I discovered that the URL that I put in the August folder is the same as the URL that is in the September folder, so when the user looks in the August folder they see September data.  I was trying to keep this simple so that it was easy for the accounting clerk to generate all 25 monthly reports without having to do a lot of changing of folders, etc.

We currently have this set up for Report Viewer, in six groups.  When it is time to run month-end reports, he goes into each group, changes the month, and runs the group.

What needs to be changed when running a report for the Web Viewer so that it is a unique URL, so a 'view-only' user can look at one month, then go back and look at another month, without any reports having to be rerun?.

Never mind.  I think I've got this figured out.
