Hello,
Once a competitor has been added to the Opportunity subgrid, how do you remove the association? I cannot find any delete/remove option in the subgrid menu - just ADD or EDIT.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Select the competitor and then on the 3 dots, click on remove.

Thanks @Jimmy Passeti | MVP but I don't see the 'Remove' option in the menu.
I created custom security roles for my users so is a specific privilege required?
Or do I need to use the Ribbon Workbench to edit the menu options?

    Hello Friend,

In Dynamics 365, the relationship between Opportunities and Competitors is typically many-to-many (N:N). This means that when you remove a competitor from an opportunity, you are deleting the association between the two records—not the records themselves.

In subgrids representing N:N relationships, a "Remove" button should be available to delete this association. If this option is missing, the issue is likely due to customization or configuration settings rather than permission restrictions—especially since you can still add competitors.

First, check if you can remove induvial records. (follow below image)

    if not works, then:

Before troubleshooting further, check if the Delete option is available in the Command Bar (formerly known as the Ribbon):

    1. Go to the Sitemap in Dynamics 365, where you see Opportunities, Leads, Accounts, Contacts, etc.
    2. Click on Competitors from the list.
    3. Select any competitor from the list view.
    4. Look for the Delete option in the command bar at the top.

If the Delete option is missing here, then this confirms the issue.

To resolve this, follow these steps:

    • Use the Ribbon Workbench to inspect the Command Bar associated with the Competitors subgrid.
    • Check for any display or enable rules that might be hiding the "Remove" button.
    • Modify or remove these rules as necessary to restore the button’s visibility.

    Additional Considerations

If the issue persists, also check:

    • Form Customizations: Ensure the subgrid is properly configured to display related records.
    • System Updates or Changes: If this issue started after a recent update, review any modifications that may have impacted the subgrid functionality.
If you my answer helps you, please consider approving my answer.

Thank you very much for your detailed response @Nitesh Raj! The Remove option was hidden on the SubGrid menu when I looked at it in the Ribbon Workbench.
