Default view in Charts Editor

Posted on by 5

Hello everyone,

We recently removed an outdated field in our CRM platform. It was a custom optionset on the Account entity. We checked removed all references to this field in our plugins and made sure there were no system dependencies left before removing the field.

What followed was that a bunch of our users had personnal views made for them by employees no longer working at our company which included that now removed field. We are correcting these personnal views as we dig them up.

My problem right now is that when I try creating new system charts in the Account entity, the chart editor is trying to load a broken view by default.

Error message:

Microsoft Dynamics 365

To use this saved view, you must remove criteria and columns that refer to deleted or non-searchable items.

How do I know which saved view the editor is referring to? Can I change the default view?
We are using Dynamics CRM 2016 version 8.2

Thank you

    Hi Partner

In the last screenshot, you selected charts under account entity. Select the views instead and look for the  corrupted field within the views.

Thank you for the reply Akash.

This did not, however, resolve my issue. Here is a screenshot of my situation.

I am working inside a Solution.

I try creating a new Chart.

The Chart Editor tries loading up a view that does not work.

How can I know which view this window is trying to open? I have fixed many personal views that had the missing field but apparently none of them were the default one in the editor.

Is there a way to change the default view used in the Charts Editor?

    Hi Partner,

Find the view in the settings -> Customizations -> Customize my system -> expand the entities and select the Entity -> view -> Choose the view which is loading remove the offending column and add back the proper one

f you want to change your default view in Case entity charts, you should follow the steps below.

    1.Go to Settings->Customization->Customize the system.

2.Open Entities list and choose View label, and then select a view which you want to make it as default view and click more action, then click set default.

3.Save and publish your changes .
