Hi All,

I am trying to set up timesheets for administrative department of the company whose tasks are repetitive and non project based. These roles include accountant, HR , admin and operations department.

I am currently unable to find a way to create and assign timesheets for these positions. Do I need to create separate projects for these positions and then assign tasks for the timesheets.

Thank You

Regards

Amrendra

    Hi Amrendra,

Timesheets functionality requires projects. So then indeed you have to create projects for them. But are you sure they have to write time when they would only write the on the same project every day?

    Hi Amarendra,

One solution can be to set up "Internal" projects, set them  up as "non-billable" and assign calendars to this group of employees, typically termed as "Corporate" or "Admin/Operations". Create a work schedule/calendar to define the defaulted hours and days, would typically be Mon-Fri, 8:00AM to 4:00 PM( i gave North American example) but varies as per geography(islamic states have Friday as Sunday) and work hours of your client.

If you use the shopfloor timesheet application(time card) it allows far more detailed configuration like overtime hours beyond standard, stat holiday hours, absence hours etc, but it has got it's own loopholes too. Partially manual approval and calculation process.

Hopefully you would be able to design an appropriate solution using either of these applications.

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes we need to track the hours of all our employees for payroll and absence management. Currently we are using external system for timesheets and project management.

can we tie the project trans date to the fiscal year calendar somehow? I need to show absence time for current fiscal year only.
