Sales Opportunity forms are read only

In our sales hub, I qualify a lead:

Depending on the Order type, Work Based, Item Based, or Service Maintenance, even if the "none" option is selected.

Say I select work based, then qualified the lead, I would only be able to edit the Opportunity in the Project Information View ONLY, see error/read-only messages below for each other View:

If you Select “None” You can only edit in SALES AND OPPORTUNITY.

This issue persists with different work types selected.

I have changed the security settings for each form to "Everyone" the same as the Account which we have no problems.

Has anyone come across this issue, and could you explain why this is happening and a solution?

Thankyou.

RE: Sales Opportunity forms are read only

Hi thank you for your suggestion it was helpful. We decided to make the "Work Based" option the default one, and only use the "Project Information" form. Out of curiosity how did you or your organisation go about this issue? Do you think we have chosen correctly to only use "Work Based" option& the "Project Information" form? Thankyou again for your help.

I also agree with Leah, you also need to check the value of Order Type.

The field service and project form is read only when the value of order type is Item based. It only works for Work based.

    Hi MichaelHodgs,

You need check the value of the order type field or switch to 'Project Information' form.

If you are using sales hub app, you need the selected option is 'item based', and select 'opportunity' form:

Based on your description, you should have selected 'work based' option:

If so, you need navigate to 'Project Information' form:

And you mentioned that the opportunity is qualified from lead, so you need to check the order type field in the lead to make sure that the order type in the lead is also "item based".

You can check in the app if these forms are added in the app or not as shown in below screenshot:

If not added and you need, do add them in you app.

    Hi,

This is not security issue instead it's app based form issue, every first party app have their own specific forms and if you will open those forms in the different app it will show error like this.

Possible options are make sure to remove other first party apps form the current app so that you can see form of this app only.

or look for the specific field which you need to populate to remove this error

    something like this
