Transaction Text in Reversing Journals & Transaction Reversal

When using the transaction reversal functionality and/or the Reversing journals, we'd like to see the original transaction text from the original journal/transaction.

Thru the journal text setup, we can specify prefix "Reverse" with date/form/voucher using %1,%2, %3 as the trans text, but would really prefer to have the original trans text, Prefixed with "Reverse" or something to that affect.

Has anyone encountered this request and have found a way to accomplish this?

Does Microsoft team plan on making this change in the future?

Any guidance/response would be appreciated,

    We've done a similar modification to our system, as we couldn't use the standard system functionality to accomplish it.  Assuming you have development rights to your system, have a look at the class method LedgerJournalCheckPost.createRevEntries().  Specifically, look for this call:

    this.createReverseEntryJournalLine(updLedgerJournalTrans, newVoucher, transactionTxt.txt());

    The yellow highlighted part is what you'll want to change.  That transactionTxt object will be the one you've set up using journal text setup. The original transaction text is in buffer updLedgerJournalTrans.Txt.  So if instead you replace that line with one that looks like:

    this.createReverseEntryJournalLine(updLedgerJournalTrans, newVoucher, strfmt("%1 - %2", "@SYS22850", updLedgerJournalTrans.Txt));

    That should get you what you're looking for.  (Note, @SYS22850 is the label "Reverse", and assumption is made that you're using AX 2009).
