As mentioned, Dynamics GP is tested with default display settings on the Windows OS and has no actual display settings of its own in the GP application. Changing these display options on the OS can potentially cause display or font issues to show in the GP application.
I've also seen things like having a high-definition monitor attached to another machine cause display issues where, when that monitor was removed, the issues stopped, so it can be a investigation to pinpoint what may be causing the display or font issues to occur.
The blog has some troubleshooting steps in it, and really all that we have on the GP support team, but obviously it isn't the 'end-all' of troubleshooting guides and you may find something completely different on your environment.
