Issue posting checks after printing -possible security user

Hello All

I have an issue where one user will print the checks but she is not allowed to post them - that job goes to someone else - the problem we are having is after she prints the check, since she does not have security to post it she get the error 'You Do Not have Security Privilege's "

What happens then her user ID holds the check in the SY00800 and SY00801 tables and until that is deleted nobody can post that check - What security are we missing that will bypass that error  but still not give her rights to post

    Hello sdcraig,

Based on the information provided, my assumption is the error is occurring due to the Post Checks window or the Print Remittance window. When you print the checks, either the Post Checks or Print Remittance window will open immediately after the checks are printed.

To address this issue, please review the KB article below on this error message.

Error message when you try to log on to Microsoft Dynamics GP or open a window or a report in Microsoft Dynamics GP: "You don't have security privileges to this window. Contact your system administrator for assistance"

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you!

    Hi,

You can track which window is causing the issue by configuring Activity Tracking.

You can do this via "Tools > Setup > System > Activity Tracking"

Once in this window select to track "Access Tracking" and then select "Failed attempts to open a window" and "Failed attempts to run a report". You also tick the user and company in question:

Then recreate the error and hopefully this will have now been recorded. After you have done this go to "Reports > System > General" and choose "Activity Tracking Detail" and create a report to show you the window or report causing the issue.

Finally you can grant access to that window or report.

    I hope this helps

    Gavin

P.S. Dont forget to switch this off once you have finished as it can cause the DYNAMICS database to grow. (perhaps not so bad tracking failed attempts but if you switch on for other things it can)
