Find customizations done a Form(list of all the changes done in which include formcontrols, tabs, menuitems etc) and Traversing to a specific Control on the Form for a given control name in AX 2012

Hi Team,

I have requirement in which we should be able to find all the customization done on a form control and then traverse to the specific node and get the AOT  path of that control.

For example : Lets assume we have a CustTable Form in which a new control CustomString is added to this form.

Now, I need to able find the changes done to the CustTable form and then traverse to CustomString Form Control and get the entire AOT path of this control.

    Hi Kishore,

    You have used a tag Dynamics 365 while your title mentions AX 2012. Can you explain for which version you are asking this question? What is the purpose for this requirement?

    Thanks for your response.

    Apologies. This requirement is related to AX 2012 R3 CU9.

    We are working on a project where we need to find all the customization related to Form in all the layers and then get the entire path of the custom controls added to forms.

    Hi Kishore,

    Using the manual comparison of objects in the AOT, you can find the changes, but they are not stored or easy to convert to the entire path.

    You can try to reverse-engineer the Compare feature and see if you can achieve your requirement.

    Hi Kishore,

    I think you should be able to see if reverse engineering the Compare form would be an option to find your answer. I have not had the requirement or interest myself to look behind the scenes of this feature.
