changing item model group

Posted on by 345

Dear All,

we are getting one error while changing item model group for item.

actually we created new item (non-stock product) but mistakenly select FIFO instead Service model group.

one po also created and confirmed.

now am trying to change item model group but bellow error showing.

You cannot change the item model group because that would cause the Inventory policy to be changed.

please help me solve this error.

Thanks

Ashok

    Hello Fredrik,

I had a PO line with this item. Some pending inventory transactions.

I delete the PO line and the inventory transactions are now empty:

I checked the inventrans table to be sure it was deleted, it is:

However, it is still impossible to update the item model group.

I think that to update this item, you need to make sure that you have no transaction in the PurchLine table as well.

Personally, I deleted the PO line but transactions in PurchLine are remaining and block the update.

    Regards,

    Thomas

Created... but is it posted? If not, you can delete your order and then change it.

The solution checks for inventTrans if any records are there.

Of you haven't posted anything yet, then you're good. If it is posted... You need to create a new item an ld retire the old. Remember that you can rename your items and block these from being purchased.
