Cannot create a record. The record already exists.

Good morning,

Can anyone help me. I have a problem when creating a new record in my customized table.

When I click on 'Save' to create a new record, it gives me the error "CANNOT CREATE A RECORD. THE RECORD ALREADY EXISTS" .

What I have noticed is that, the number sequence generated in my form after clicking "NEW" is 005010. Whereas in the Setup of the sequence number it is indicated that the next number sequence is 005023.

I have tried to launch the cleaning of the number sequence but nothing changed.

Also, i have set the next number manually but it is still stuck on 005010

I will aprreciate your responses.

Hi Naycene,

Are you trying to save the record on as you click on New? You should get this error on saving the record.

Hi Naycene,

What is this new table about? Did you enable 'continuous' for this number sequence? Check the Status list on the number sequence. This might have an entry the old duplicate value. It will then try to re-use this number.

An easy fix would then be disabling the continuous option, but depends on the purpose of the table and your requirements.
