Email notifications are not being sent to users when they are @ tagged on Posts, what am I doing wrong?

Email works fully in 365 Sales Pro, I can send mail from Dynamics no problem, I can do email tests and everything works also.  However, any time we @ tag a user on a Post, they never receive it via email.  I've checked everything and can't figure it out.  We just switched from Salesforce so I have users daily complaining about this.  Do I need to enable a setting somewhere or something?  I don't know what the issue is but it's really impacting productivity being unable to properly tag people.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,

The tag in a post will not create any notification OOTB.

It is recommended to achieve it in other ways (like Plug-In, Workflow or Flow).

I don't get it, what's the point of @ tagging someone on a post then?  I might as well just write their name if you're saying it doesn't notify anyone.  I don't understand why someone would tag a user then, what's the point as it seems like it's just to make you feel good about yourself as the whole point of tagging someone is to get their attention.  Those links you sent aren't helpful, they just are suggestions for hacks or workarounds someone can do.  Honestly it's a bit mind blowing that this doesn't work, and had I known this we would have never switched from Salesforce.  Go on LinkedIn which is owned by Microsoft and you can @ tag a user all you want, so it's ridiculous that this concept is foreign to Dynamics 365.  How is anyone supposed to be productive if you're not able to tag users or notify them on posts?  And sorry I can't click that your answer is a solution as it didn't answer my question so that would not be fair.
