URL parameters / variables

Posted on by 15

Hi there,

Is it possible to pass a variable in the URL of a Customer Voice Survey when the survey is being sent from an external system?

Use case:

We have an external system that is not synchronized or connected to D365 otherwise. In this system, Work Orders are generated and have Contact information. When a Work Order is completed, an email is sent through that system to the contact asking for feedback, and there are variables available when building the link.

I've tried following this guide, for Forms Pro, but the link is re-written without the variable string.

ncv.microsoft.com/XXXXXXXXXXXX={"wonum":"{{Alert.ID}}","companyname":"{{Alert.CompanyName}}",FullName":"{{Alert.Contact}}"}

Becomes

customervoice.microsoft.com/ Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=<SURVEYID>&ctx=%7B

I know I can link the personalization variable using Flow, but cannot find information on using the above example in Customer Voice in D365.

In the above examples, I am trying to pass the variables to the Personalization Settings of the Survey in Customer Voice. The Personalization fields are available.

  • Work Order Number
  • Company Name
  • Full Name
