How to Display A customer's Picture on their Contact Card in a form

Hi:

So I am mandating that nearly all people I interact with submit either 1) a picture of their corporate ID badge (if they have one), or 2) a picture of themself which I then upload into my CRM 4.0 as an attachment to a note in their contact.  What I'd like to do is have a separate field that displays the picture itself somewhere on the form that way when I pull up the person's card, I can see their picture and confirm it's the same person rather than pulling the card, flipping over to the notes tab, finding the note which I label as "Trust Token" so it stands out amongst the thousands of notes, choosing the file, choosing "open" in the IE prompt then verifying it, then closing the file in the image viewer.  The reason I want to streamline this task, is that when I'm in the field; the people I'm dealing with do see the whole "Advanced Find" > enter last name, first name, email, etc. > Search > pull card > flip to notes > locate picture > etc. routine and I'd like to make that experience better for both myself and them.

Is it at all possible to display a picture of the person as its attached to their card?

Note that I am using the term "card" kind of in a generic sense to mean "contact" or "customer profile".

I have the same question (0)

the problem is with your CRM version.

CRM 2011 and newer versions have an image attribute and entities like account and contact have already the way to display the picture (size 144x144, so quite small) inside the form.

With CRM 4.0 you will probably need to create a webresource to fetch the attachment in order to display inside the form.

However kind of hard to find some working scripts for that version.

    Hope it helps

thanks so much!  I'm still in 32-bits land over here due to compatibility with other (now ancient) systems and if I remember correctly CRM 2011 needs pretty much all 64-bits (SQL Server, Exchange, OS) and the requirements for 64-bit software are too much on my current setup.  Add on top of that the fact that I don't like change and you've got me stuck in CRM 4.0 until the day I die.  I'd like to see CRM 2011 and practice with it to (maybe one day) upgrade... but until I'm comfortable with it; I cannot upgrade without my life grinding to a halt.

I've not upgraded to Exchange 2007 due to its reliance on 64-bit and PowerShell which no matter how hard I try... I'm just not comfortable with.

To be honest, it took me years to finally become comfortable with Office 2007/2010 and as far as I'm concerned that's where I'm staying until I have to move to something else... so looks like that request is sunk.

I understand you have reasons to don't upgrade. Your CRM version (4.0) is older than a decade, it works only with Internet Explorer and is difficult to test and find working scripts for that version. With a webresource your requirement should be doable but testing and making sure it works with an old version of Internet Explorer requires more work.

I wouldn't know the first thing on programming that so no worries.
