Hello Friends,

Can I go Dynamics GP2013 12.00.2198 ( Client is on US Payroll) to GP2016 R2?

Questions-

1)  Do I need any other hotifx SP on GP2013?

2)  What SP I need to put it on GP2016 R2?

Your earliest reply is highly appreciable.

Thanks much

Sandip

    Hi Sandip,

This page should help you answer your questions about compatible versions/upgrade paths: mbs.microsoft.com/.../HOT_TOPIC_MDGP2016Upgrade

    Hello Ma'am,

I have gone through link but confused on this point # 6.

    6. To install the 2017 US Year End update, you need to be on 12.00.2104 or later or 14.00.0983 or later.  Once you install the  2017 US Year End update, you cannot upgrade to Microsoft  Dynamics GP 2015 or Microsoft  Dynamics GP 2016, until the 2017 Canadian Year-End Update is released, target release middle of December 2017.

Can I upgrade from 12.00.2198 to GP2016 R2? Or I have to install Candian Year End Update? - Confused on it.

    Thanks much

    Sandip Jadhav

    Hi Sandip,

Yes, the way I am reading it, you should be fine with 12.00.2198. However, you want to go to GP 2016 R2 plus a hot fix so that you are upgrading to GP 2016 build 16.00.0641 or later. Here is a link to build 16.00.0675: [View:https://mbs2.microsoft.com/fileexchange/?fileID=a15ef8d3-4fad-4978-be8e-a9b5ea51702c:750:50]

Of course, the only way to truly make sure everything is compatible and will work is to do a test.

    Hello Sandip,

Since you're currently on 12.00.2198, you need to be upgrading to a minimum version/build of 16.00.0641, which is the 2017 Canadian Year-End patch, or later.

The best way to think of the upgrade paths is this:

--If you're currently on the 2016 Year-End release for GP 2013, you most likely need to be upgrading to, a minimum of, the equivalent 2016 Year-End release for GP 2015 or GP 2016 that you're upgrading to.

--If you're currently on the January 2018 hotfix for GP 2013, you'll need to upgrade to, at a minimum, the equivalent January 2018 hotfix for the version you're upgrading to.

    Thanks,
