    Hi,

Do you mean that you want to create the database from SQL Server Management Studio?  or you want to open the new database from NAV?

    Please specify your requirement.

you can restore the sql backup into the new sql server using smss tool.

after that it's you should set the needed sql rights for all users, which need access to the database, at least the nav service account, with which the nav service is run. give that user the dbowner right. after that start nav service management console and edit the properties of the nav service instance you want to change the database or create a new one for the new database. set the needed values and start the service.
