Accounting for Field Service

What accounting solution is typically used for companies running on Dynamics Field Service?

I see there's integration with Quickbooks through the Appsource but thought that it would have already been built in to the accounting piece of Dynamics.  Is that not the case?

    RE: Accounting for Field Service

Dynamics 365 Field Service does not have its own accounting solution built-in, so companies using Dynamics Field Service often integrate it with third-party accounting solutions such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Intacct.

While Dynamics 365 does have some basic financial management capabilities, such as the ability to create and manage customer invoices and track accounts receivable, it is not a full-fledged accounting solution. Therefore, integrating it with a dedicated accounting software can provide more robust accounting functionalities, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and more.

The integration with QuickBooks through Appsource allows users to synchronize data between Dynamics 365 and QuickBooks, including customers, invoices, payments, and more. It streamlines financial processes, eliminates the need for manual data entry, and reduces the likelihood of errors.

Overall, integrating Dynamics 365 Field Service with a dedicated accounting software such as QuickBooks can help organizations to streamline their financial operations and gain more visibility into their financial performance.

    RE: Accounting for Field Service

Thanks Shawn.  So I'm still la bit befuddled.  I thought Dynamics started when Microsoft purchased an accounting software company and shortly after that a CRM software company.

So why would they not have it all working intrinsically?

Are you saying that I can't use Dynamics Accounting functions (like F&O, or god-forbid Business Central) as my accounting solution for Field Service?
