where are the default financial dimension items from

Hello all,

in AX2012 R2 CU7, if I check the Vendor /Customer/ Item etc there is a financial dimensions part like this. I'd like to know where the setting for the each financial dimension. for example, I do not want to see the Department financial dimension, how can I get this done

Hi Simon,

The default dimensions on forms is added dynamically based on the setup in your environment. If you are not using the Department dimension at all, you can change the account structures and dimensions. If you want to hide controls for some specific parts, like hiding it on the products only, then it would require a customization.

You can actually control which values are allowed using account structures. However, this will only be validated during the ledger posting process.

As alternative, my company offers an add-on (Data Validation Framework) where you can setup rules to control field values; also for individual dimension fields (like mandatory, which values or should left blank). Then you can control the values already on master data without customizations.
