Month-end close. 11 tasks to perform but the Workspace shows 0.

Hi All,

I have created a Month-end template (screenshot 1), Closing calendar (screenshot 2), and attached this template to my closing schedule (screenshot 3).

I try to close the book for August. The period starts at 8/1/2020. Period close 8/31/2020. My closing calendar starts on 9/1/2020 and ends 9/10/2020.

Then I went to the Workspace. For some reason, it shows 0 remaining tasks. I haven't performed/completed any closing task yet. So I expect to see 11 remaining tasks to do which equal the number of tasks in my template. Why does it show 0 All remaining tasks? Am I missing something? Thanks so much!

Hello Kim,

Are you running an older D365FO version?

In the past there were some issues in this form, which have, however been fixed in the meantime.

Can an old bug be the reason for your problem?

Another thing that you can verify is whether you see the tasks in the configuration workspace.

That is, if you click 'create' in your second screenshot do you see the different tasks listed there?

Hi,

Do you have 'closing roles' assigned in Resources tab page?

Only employees having closing roles assigned can see the data in the 'Financial period close' workspace.

Some of the users are contractors. Let me check if the contractors can see the Financial period close Workspace? Thanks again.

Hi Kim,

Contractors, Employees both can see it as long as the worker has a role assigned in the setup mentioned above.

All the roles are set up and linked to appropriate employees and contractors. The workspace had and still is showing 0

Hi,

Is this problem with 1 person or no one can see it? If no one can see it, I would suggest creating a Microsoft support ticket. Also please let us know D365FO version, Ludwig has mentioned a bug in the older version.

Was it ever working or is it the first time you are doing this?

I double-check the roles assigned to me and realized that I did not assign any role to myself. Problem solved. :-) I now see the correct number of tasks. Thanks.
