Unit Cost is not Updated

Hello,

I got a problem on Item Card. Here is the detail:

On Item Card, the Costing Method is FIFO, Quantity on Hand is 20, but the Unit Cost is 0.

The Replenishment System is Assembly and it is "Make-to-Stock".

When I create an Assembly Order and fill out lines, the Unit Cost on Assembly Order is 0. After posting the Assembly Order, the Unit Cost on Item Card is still not updated.

Can anyone help me?

Have you configured your Bill of Materials and Routing(s) for this Assembled Item? If so, you can try the Calculate Standard Cost option from the Item Card.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for your response. The Production BOM No. and Routing No. are blank field.

Could you give more specific instructions? And How to configured Bill of Materials and Routing(s) for this item?

    Thank you!

as alex suggests try to create a routing and a production bom for that item, then try again.

    Hi Jonathan,

Why do I need to create Production BOM? Or you mean Assembly BOM?

    Hi Allen,

You can find the Assembly BOM from the Item card on the Navigate tab, along with the Calc Standard Cost and Calc Unit Price functions.

Also you'll need to learn about Work Centers/Machine Centers so you can then build your Routings. You can find all of these using the search bar at the top right of NAV. Depending on your manufacturing processs... you'll most likely need to set up at least a Work Center to use in your Routing for each Item you are producing (you may not need Machine Centers).

After you create the Assembly BOM link it to the Item from the Item card; after you create the Work Center and the Routing, then link that Routing to the Item there on the Item card too.

    Regards,

in general field "unit cost" is not very informative. better use the statistics window.

for calculation the item's "unit cost" follow

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168041(v=nav.70).aspx

when posting an assembly order the item's "unit cost" is not updated, but the fields "Rolled-up Material Cost" and "Single-Level Material Cost", because only material costs incur.
