Hi experts,
I am confused that how the Microsoft licensing works in terms of access to the different modules/entities in Dynamics CRM? My client is using two type of licenses which are:
My assumption was that the users having “Sales license only” will have no access to the Case entity but as per my observation both the licenses work in the same way. With proper security roles both can access Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities and Cases. Is this how it should work? If yes, then what’s the difference?

Licensing within Dynamics has always been a trust based thing.
AFAIK you are responsible for the creation and maintaining of the proper security roles, security roles with access as defined by the licensing model.
So yes, you can give more access (technically) to a user even through it is not allowed to do so by the license.
But this of course means a breach in the licensing contract and can result in serious penalties.

Anyway, licensing is a delicate topic, so I'm curious for other responses.
