(On-Prem BC14 Spring Release) How to restrict mass record deletion?

Posted on by 70

Hello all,

We are a small shop running Dynamics NAV BC14 On-premise, and I'm relatively new to the NAV environment.  Recently we had one of our new folks in Finance mess up and mass delete (1500+) records en mass. They thought the "view" they open was only applicable to them and was a report. After 4 hours of me getting everything back, I'd like to prevent this from happening again, by implementing a "pop-up" are you sure you want to delete "X number" of records and also limit no more than say 5 records at once.

Is this even possible?

Cheers,

Dave

As this seems to be out of my scope and will require some .json work, it appears I will have to reach out to our NAV partner to have this completed. Thanks YUN!

Hi, I think it is possible. You can add the Count function to the OnBeforeDelete (Table Extension) Trigger of the table, prompt an error when the number is greater than 5.
