Locations question in relation to WHS.

Hi,

I recently came across an interesting topic: WMS and WHS Locations.

I would like to know what are the differences between them. I know that these locations are stored both in the WMSLocation table with the main change being that WHS Locations have Location profle specified, for WMS the field is blank. What difference does it make?

From what i experienced in our testing environment having storage dimension group different than warehouse being whs enabled will results in the system working the "old" way.

For example: having storage dimension group setup as whs enabled, and warehouse not whs enabled, will act like if it was the "old" way. Same goes for the warehouse being whs enabled but storage dimension group is not. Is that correct? If not what is the difference and which one should i use?

Greetings, Emil.

    Hi EmilP,

To migrate WMS refer the Migration of Microsoft Dynamics AX WMS to new R3 warehouse and transportation functionality and to configure it Configure locations in a WMS-enabled warehouse
