Management Reporter - Naming convention limitations?

We are trying to standardize naming conventions across a number of business systems.  

Can anyone link me to field settings/restrictions for Management Reporter?  

I have found that the "&" is unusable, so I am guessing that special characters are not allowed.  Is this true?

I also saw that there is a 30 character column width limitation.  Is this correct, and are there are other character limits?
