Purchase Price Type Item price records .

I have active item prices or purchase price type in my active prices which appear to be system generated from previous Purchase order receipts( although there are other purchases after the date of this record.)

We use latest Purchase Price Flag in Released product details to control holding last cost.

Can anyone clarify how or why this extra record is created and possible issues?

    Hi GCW,

It seems that you tried attaching some screenshots. Unfortunately, we can't see them. Can you try saving them and then attaching them through the rich formatting form.

    Thanks,

    Ludwig

I was afraid of that, they appeared prior to submitting, unfortunately I don't see an option to switch to Rich formatting.

    Hi GCW,

The price type that is created in your costing version is automatically created by AX because of the latest purchase price parameter that you selected. Making use of this allows you tracking the purchase price history in your costing version that you can later on use for analysis purposes. From a finance&accounting perspective I do not see a disadvantage of making use of that. I have also not heard that this parameter would have a bad effect for example on your system performance. So, I would just leave because your auditors might ask for something like that when it comes to inventory valuation at year end.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you Ludwig, that confirms how they are created, my other concern was if they might be included in a Cost roll or upper level costing in same way but in the ones I reviewed I did not see that to be the case.  Are you aware of anything else these records effect.

    Hi GCW,

I am not aware of any other negative effects that rhese records might have. If you find one, please share it with the community here. Otherwise, it would be great if you could verify the answer to get this thread closed.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks for your input, I marked the post that provided the answer, this data or the purchase section latest , fills the purchase order lines next entry, so there is an effect.

In our case they carry a variance from price matching, so I need to run that down, that should be a new post related to three way matching
