Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2005 Database cannot Open due to Error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

Our client cannot open Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2005 Database it it maybe the database was corrupted when the Managers PC got suddenly shut down.

This is the Error prompting.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV
---------------------------
Other concurrent activities have reused the available space in the database that contained your snapshot of data. This can occur in connection with time-consuming tasks such as printing or making backups. Wait until there are fewer concurrent updates of the database and try again. If this occurs often, you should create more available space in the database. You can create more space in the database by:

* Expanding the database.

* Deleting unnecessary data.

* Date compressing older, non-current entries.

* Optimizing the database.

OK
---------------------------

We cannot expand the database because we cannot open the database.

Can someone help me?

Thanks,

Elrey

    Try to copy FDB file to another machine and see if you are able to open the DB and further to expand the DB.

    Did you try to open the database from other computer, are you getting same error ? Try deleting the zup file and reopen the database.

    Hi,

    Though I am not very sure, but this kind of error comes when data (in a table) has been corrupted, not the entrie database.

    Please check this threads:

    Hope it helps.
