Sales Cube not picking up financial dimensions

Hello All,

I am trying to configure the cubes for a client, and I am running into an issue with the financial dimensions on the sales cube.

I have determined that the financial dimensions are added to the cubes based on the values in the CustInvoiceJour.DefaultDimension field, but on the majority of the records in the CustInvoiceJour table have a value of 0 for the DefaultDimension field.

If I manually set the DefaultDimension field in SQL, everything works just fine in the cubes. So I know these zero values are what is causing my issues.

So my question is, does anyone know how this field is populated? Or have any idea why it could be populated with a 0 instead of a valid reference to a financial dimension value combination?

Thank you,

Phil

I have done some more research into this, and it appears that this value is based on the dimension value set up on the customer itself, not what is actually set on the transaction itself.

I am not sure what the reasoning is for this, but I might have answered my own question.

There is one more follow up question though, has anyone successfully changed this to populate based on the dimension on the sales order/free text invoice instead of the customer record?

    Thank you,

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Are you saying that the Dimension stamped on CustInvoiceJour (the invoice journal header) is different than is stamped on the Sales order header?

Bear in mind that the header cannot contain any dimension values that come from the items on the order.
