HI everyone,

When I run an SSRS report, and it takes a long time to process, the report is automatically downloaded as a PDF.

how i can fix that?

    Hi,

Is it happening with all the SSRS report or particular reports?

PDF  an be defaulted as destination at the time of generating the SSRS report or in the form setup- print management setup- destination of reports.

    Hi,
Here are some things you can consider:
    • If processing of all reports is slow, consider using a scale-out deployment, where multiple report server instances support a single report server database. For best results, use load balancing software to distribute requests evenly throughout your deployment.
    • If an individual report is processing slowly, adjust the report dataset query if the report must run on demand. Also consider using cacheable shared datasets, caching reports, or running reports as snapshots.
    • If all reports are slow to process in a particular format (for example, when rendering to PDF), consider file share delivery, adding more memory, or selecting a different format.
    • To understand how long it takes to process reports and other usage metrics, please view the report server execution log.Report Server ExecutionLog and the ExecutionLog3 View - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Learn
    • For more information on how to mitigate performance issues by optimizing memory management configuration settings, please view:Configure Available Memory for Report Server Applications - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Learn
In addition, you can refer to this official document. If the SSRS report runs for too long, you can use batch processing to improve performance. For specific information, you can check this link:
