Inter-Store Transfers in AX

Can someone shed some light on how to do inter-store transfers from a essential Retail POS? I couldn't find any option in Retail POS and was thinking there will be some option for it in enterprise portal. But after installing and getting into the portal, I couldn't see something like that. Please help.

(Something like we are doing from Dynamics RMS)

It is not in POS or Portal, it is in Rich client. Refer technet.microsoft.com/.../dn859568.aspx

Yes, I know it is possible to do it through HQ application (rich client). What if a retail store wants to transfer some of the items to next store upon a request? How will the store manager do the transfer out? The store people may have access to POS and EP only.

Hi Arun, yes, if you need transfer order creation capability in POS, then you have to customize POS.

Hi Arun,

You will have to customize the Retail POS to create Transfer order from POS. Once the Transfer order is created then the Picking and receiving feature is out of box in POS.

We have done this kind of customization in our past implementation and it is pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the comment. Would you mind sharing more info on the straight forward methods?

My thoughts are like below. Please correct if I am wrong.

1. A POS customization to show and choose items we wanted to transfer.

2. Another screen to show and choose destination store.

3. Grab other mandatory fields needed for a 'Transfer Order' creation.

4. Call appropriate service method through AIF.

Another one is using RetailTransactionServiceEx class and POS Blank Operation plug-in.

Please help.

Hi Arun,

You can create exactly same POS screen for creating the Transfer order similar to Picking/Receiving where you add the items and select the Destination store. You need not call AIF instead use the Transaction service classes to create Transfer order in AX.
