Load planning workbench --> Release to warehouse

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

There is such functionality in Load planning workbench form, but with my settings, it seems to not work properly. I enter some sales order lines, open Load planning workbench, add the lines to new load and then click Release to warehouse. I see the following message:

1)Load has been posted

...and that's all. No shipment is created, no wave is created, nothing.

If I don't add the sales lines to a load, but release them thought sales order form, then a new shipment is created, then added to existing or new wave.

My wave settings are not to be processed and released automatically, if that matters.

So, am I missing a setup? I want to release a load and it to be automatically added to a wave.

Thanks,

Ventsislav

    Hi Ventsislav,

For sure it is related to setup.

Can you verify the setup using the warehouse management implementation guide first? If you don't find the answer, please update the question with some of your setup so we can understand what might be missing.

You can find the whitepaper here: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Please also update once you found the answer yourself.

    Hi, Andre

thanks for your reply. I am familiar with that document, but can't find anything helpful for my case. I've run through all related (according to me ) settings and everything seems fine.

In Contoso environment I don't experience this problem (well, didn't). Compared everything and the difference is, that in Contoso, the ValidateWave method was not added to the wave template. With it, the process went fine. I added it, and I got the problem. Now I can't remove this method from the template. I don't understand, how is it possible to NOT select it? When I create new wave template, 4 methods are automatically added, and ValidateWave is one of them.

This is the template in my test environment

And this one is in Contoso environment. As you see, the template is marked as Invalid, but this is how it comes from Microsoft. Very strange.

The mystery is solved - table WHSLoadPostMethod was empty. Still don't know why, it must have came wrong with installation or with some hot fix update

    Hi Ventsislav,

I´m having the same trouble, could you tell me, if your table was totally empty or just for the company you were working on and how you complete the table, manually or using an AX setup module?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matias,

If your 'WHSLoadPostMethod' table is empty, you can configure it using Warehouse management -> Setup -> Load posting methods -> Regenerate methods.

Thank you very much, that do the job. Now I´m with my original problem. It shows me an error while trying to reserve the ítems, it refers to the inventory dimensions above the location but I ´ve the hierarchy assigned to the product I´m using, do you ´ve any idea.

This is the hierarchy i´m using

    Site                        1

    warehouse        2

    Inventory status 3

    Location                  4

    L. Plate                    5

    Thanks a lot,

    Matias,

That Reservation hierarchy looks fine. Are you reserving items by doing Load release?

What is the exact error message?

Yes I´m releasing from de load planning workbench and the exact message says:

"To be assigned to wave RHM-000000024, load lines must specify the dimensions above the location. To assign these dimensions, reserve and recreate the load line."

I don´t understand the message,I assume it refers to the hierarchy or I´m missing something else.

    Hi Matias,

With your reservation hierarchy, you must specify Site, Warehouse and Inventory status on the Sales order line. I think this is what your error is referring to.

It also means you need to have inventory available for reservation which has the correct inventory status.
