"Contact your administrator for access to your organization's mobile apps" when trying offline.

Posted on by 20

The most common mistake from my users is that accidentally clicking on "back" arrow from the mobile display.    Around 70% of the interaction time with FS mobile is "offline without internet" mode so whenever they want to edit a workorder when reopen the app, appears the following screenshot.

My assumption is that because it is offline without internet, the app is not able to list the productive app that the user does have access.   Am I right?

When the user is part of the Offline Profile, the application will always run in the "Offline" mode. There is not currently a switch to prevent the automatic syncs when the device has internet access.

Yes the three scenarios make sense for me.

    1. I proved that and I agree with you.

    2. That would be the closest scenario we face.   I have set as a workaround that all tables to be synced twice a day and try to handle the sync manually but I notice that this is not happening once from offline without internet switch to offline with internet.

And this is the main item I want to understand,  Is there a way to tell FS not to sync whenever it becomes offline with internet?

    3. This scenario is not allowed and we do know what happens when

    Hello,

There are a few scenarios here:

    1. If the user is already using the application and the initial offline sync has completed, they should be able to back out and re-enter the app module, or close and re-open the app, even without device connectivity.

    2. If the user has not yet allowed their initial sync to complete and their device goes offline, then they back out to app module list, they would not be able to access the app module unless device connectivity is re-established.

    3. If the user selects to "Sign out" or "Reconfigure" from the app user Profile, the app database would be cleared. They then have to have device connectivity again to see the app module in the app list.

If you are seeing different behavior feel free to reach out to Field Service Mobile Feedback <fsmfeedback@microsoft.com>.

Yes, on a daily basis in he morning the very first sync is enabling the today's workorders and all users have offline profile.

Will double check all tables in the offline profile and share on detail the purpose of each one.

I haven't checked the offline status in the app since this is happening when users get out of the Prod by mistake

    Hi,

Did the app complete offline sync for the users before losing internet connectivity?

The users are added to the offline profile ? - Configure offline data for the Field Service (Dynamics 365) mobile app | Microsoft Docs

I am suspecting some configuration issue with the offline profile and/or users not being correctly enabled for offline profile. Once the offline data download completes, this issue should not occur. If the app is closed and then reopened without internet connectivity, it will work off the offline db.

Since the app is trying to connect to the discovery service, implies offline sync hasn’t happened/completed.

What does the “offline status” say on the app ?

    Regards,

    Venkatesh N

    1. The user has access to the FSM App.

    2. The environment is a productive one.

The issue happens when working online and saving workorders.  Then go back to the apps list by misake and in the same time is offline without internet mode so the issue happens.

    Hi,

Please refer to the replies in the following issue, which is similar to yours.

    There are two solutions:

    1. Check if the login user has the access to the the FSM App.
    2. Enable/disable "Show non-production apps" depending on if your environment is non-production one or not.
