Boomi?

We are about to migrate to Dynamics Business Central.  We currently use Sage and have a /transfer/ database that sits between Sage and our dozen locations (each with exact same schema database).  We send customers and vendors from Sage to the locations and GL transactions from the locations to Sage.  The current setup involves SSIS packages, SQL jobs, and stored procedures.

For Dynamics BC, I assumed we'd be writing code against its API (or using some sort of Logic/Data Factory tools in Azure). But, our integrator/consultant is recommending a third-party product called /Boomi/.  I've never heard of it.  Is it what we should use?  Is it a normal/common implementation for medium-sized businesses?

Thank you for any feedback/advice.
