Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out the best ways to automate regression testing in Dynamics AX. During my research I came across a software called AXeptance which seems to be used for regression testing automation. I have found several youtube videos on it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CWETXCz6tg). It seems like a good product but I feel like there is a lack of documentation online regarding it.

Do any of you use AXeptance for your AX testing? Would you recommend it? Is it easy to set up? Any information regrading AXeptance would be very helpful.

I do not know the specific product, but using search I could find some details.

Did you try their website which lists the trial version with documentation?

Hi Vilmos,

Thank you for a quick response! I have been on their website but I haven't downloaded the trial version yet. Since most of the information I have found so far is from their website I'm wondering if it is a legit software. I feel like if it does what they advertise it as it should have way more people using it hence more information on the web.

Majority of the companies do not use regression testing on a regular basis, they rely on business-case driven scenarios with manual 2-level deployment validation, namely developer and functional testing. I do not think you would find many examples for automated testing and adjusting the scripts with a lot of ongoing development, but you could always ask for their references from the partner. Also ask how do they overcome issues outlined in the article I have linked from Martin in your other thread.

We have been using AXeptance from long time and our QAs like that and that works great for regression testing.

You can allways try Executive Automats it is simply to use, and they deliver 4 day's of on-site training to understand how to maintain the scripts and how to use this application.

Hello Martin, that's true i've some experience with EA as well as the axeptanze so I just want to let people know that there are more solutions to do test's not only regression but far far more. Not everyone knows that HP provides this type of tool also. Apologize if that sounds like advert.

I have been using Axeptance with AX 2012 for a while and it is a good tool. and as you said Mariam they lack in documentations.
