Hi folks,

I am trying to figure out how to print multiple quantities of labels for released products. I have noticed there is a label layout data source parameters page, but I am unable to figure out how to set these parameters.

Any advice on how to print multiple of the same Label?

Thanks!

    Good day,

Is the print quantity different each time, or is it always the same?

    Best regards,

To print multiple quantities of the same custom label in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (D365 SCM), you need to configure the Label Layout Data Source Parameters properly and use a variable quantity selection when printing. Here’s a step-by-step solution:

Solution: Printing Multiple Labels with Variable Quantity Selection

Step 1: Configure Label Layout Data Source Parameters

    1. Go to:
Warehouse Management > Setup > Document Routing > Label Layout Data Source Parameters.
    2. Click New to create a new parameter or edit an existing one.
    3. Locate the Quantity field – this should be linked to the quantity of labels you want to print.
    4. If using an advanced warehouse, map the data source field to the Requested quantity or another relevant field (e.g., License plate quantity).
    5. Save and close the form.

Step 2: Adjust the Label Printing Process

When printing labels, follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to:
Warehouse Management > Inquiries and Reports > Label Printing.
    2. Select the product or license plate for which you want to print a label.
    3. Look for an option to input a quantity of labels (this depends on your label layout and setup).
    4. Enter the required number of labels and click Print.

Alternative: Adjust the Document Routing Setup for Labels

If labels are printed through Warehouse Work, configure document routing to allow multiple labels:
    1. Go to:
Warehouse Management > Setup > Document Routing.
    2. Select the relevant document routing entry for labels.
    3. In the Query tab, ensure that the label printing rule considers quantity.
    4. Modify the ZPL or other label script to ensure dynamic label generation based on requested quantity.

Optional: Customizing Label Printing for Different Quantities

If the system does not prompt for a label quantity, consider:
    • Customization: Modify the Warehouse Label Printing logic in Power Automate or X++ to include a quantity prompt before sending the label job.
    • BarTender Integration: If using BarTender, configure the label template to allow variable quantity input during printing.

    Final Notes

    • Ensure that the printer supports batch printing and that settings allow multiple labels to be processed.
    • If using Warehouse Management mobile app, check that the Print step in work templates is correctly configured.
    • Test the configuration with different products to ensure the quantity selection works as expected.
Would you like further guidance on specific label formats (ZPL, BarTender, etc.)?

In the parameters of the label layout data source you can define a new parameter called "QTY":

Then you only have to adjust the PQ parameter in your ZPL Label Layout like this:

    ^PQ$dsparams.QTY$,0,1,Y
    ^XZ

That's it. In the dialogue of the custom label you will be asked for the quantity of labels:
