Main account categories in Financial Reporter

I have created new main account categories to link to our main accounts that relate to the P&L.

I have linked the account categories accordingly, and can see the link in the relevant field on the main account.

When I try and build a P&L in Financial Reporter using the category instead of a range of main account numbers, nothing appears in the actual report when generated.

I can only think there is some further set up for this to integrate, but I'm going round in circles looking for it.  As I understand it, the main account category is not a dimension.

I'm using a test system into which we have copied the Production environment.  I read something about refreshing the datamart if a copy of the database was being used.

Please can anyone advise?

Did you include the main account category in your report - the syntax is critical? The category changes sync automatically to MR. Also try to post new entry and see if your balances are updated if you run the specific GL account for WAGES. Then try checking Category.

    Hi

Yes I added it in the 'Link to financial dimensions' column.

Have your Sys admin do a hard reset of the MR Data Mart.  I've seen this resolve issues that attempts within the Report Designer will not.

    Hello Kate,

It often takes some time until newly created accounts or account categories become visible in the financial reporter.

What you can do - or ask you system admins doing - is to restart the financial reporter services.

If this does not help then follow Frank's recommendation to reset the data mart, which should ultimately fix the issue.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi All

    Many thanks for the responses.

I want to check, if I reset the data mart, it is only going to reset from the test system?

I'm building a new report in our test environment, so assume that the financial reporter service is looking at whichever environment it's launched from?

    Regards

    Kate

    Hi Kate,

Each environment has its 'own' financial reporter / data mart installation.

What you do in test has no influence on live and vice versa.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
