Modify object and having permission error

Posted on by 950

When modifying an object which is in the range 50,000 I'm getting the following error message:

---------------------------
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic
---------------------------
You do not have permission to modify the 'Payment Voucher Vendor' Report.

Contact your system administrator to have your permissions changed.

------------------------------------------------

Using NAV 2009 R2 Version W1 6.0 R2 (6.00.32012).

Already verified the license permission report and I do have the permission to modify object in the range 50,000.  In fact, I've taken the same license and uploaded in another DB and has been able to modify the above object.  Unfortunately, having the permission error for only one client.

Already tried for uploading license in Tools > License Information > Upload and restarted the DB server and still have the same issue.

Also, verified SQL server and user has been assigned as role db_owner.  Can anyone inform why getting the above error for only one client and not for another

When viewing the license, the correct one is being displayed in License Information.  Also, the user was assigned SUPER role and same has not been changed.

the file fin was included in the folder but still was not able to modify the object.

    UPDATE

In fact, I just restored the DB and created a database login.  Now I'm able to modify the object.  Very strange but modification can be done

Did you rename your license file to fin.flf and paste it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic?

  • RE: Modify object and having permission error

When only viewing the Licence Information - does it really show the correct license file?

Next: Are you SUPER user in this database?

    Hi Natalie,

Thanks for your prompt response but have verified folder and is not ready-only.  Also, has assigned full control to the folder and have been able to import the developer license.

Unfortunately, still getting the error permission.

  • RE: Modify object and having permission error

Could it be your folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\ is read-only?

when importing the license getting the following error message:

    ---------------------------

    Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic

    ---------------------------

The operating system cannot access to the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\fin.flf .

Verify that the file type and attributes are correct.

    ---------------------------

    OK

Have already tried changing the license and still getting the permission error
Already tried for uploading license in Tools > License Information > Upload and restarted the DB server and still have the same issue.
Try Tools > Licence Information >

    • Import (if the licence should be used by all users) or
    • Change (if you want to change the licence temporarily, and only for your current session).
