Account structure XXX, for the combination YYYY is not valid for ledger XXX (company).

Posted on by 55

Hi Experts,

We did a copy company on AX 2012 R3 with Indian localisation, facing issues while posting any entries Account structure (Company name) , for the combination 101302-BANGALOR-ACCOUNTS-----, is not valid for ledger (company name).

Need your suggestion here, saw multiple blogs suggesting to install a hot fix, but having multiple entities of different localisations on the same database stops us from installing the hot fix.

I do feel we are missing something in the COA and account structure that is causing this issue.

    Hi Sourav,

    Thank you for the response.

-- I did delete all posting profile, re inserted manually

-- Created new account structure, validated and activated

-- Added the new account structure on ledger

-- Rebuild and update financial dimension set

    No Luck...

    Thanks for the feedback.

Can you check by doing below if this solve this case. This is something in addition what Andre already suggested.

-- Delete all type of posting profile setups.

-- Deactivate the account structure itself.

-- Create a new account structure and set all possible combination manually which you want to validate in the new entity.

-- Activate the new account structure.

-- Now; first remove the old / inactive account structure from the Ledger form so that there should not be any link with the old structure in the new entity.

-- Add the newly activated account structure in Ledger form.

-- Perform the 'Recalculate ledger period' in "Ledger" form (Not mandatory though).

-- Select the main accounts back in all type of posting profile setups manually.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hi Sourav,

The legal entity copied is a replica of one of the Indian entities in the same Instance. There are no changes in the COA or Financial Dimensions.

    Thanks !

    Hello Praveen Kamalakkanavar,

    Have a small query!

As you mentioned "having multiple entities of different localisations on the same database"; therefore the question comes in mind; why then you followed the copy process in order to replicate the entire structure of one legal entity to another entity?

I believe; both entities are different and chart of accounts probably also different right?

Have you checked if there is any account or dimension value is set to Suspended or any specific active time frame is set through "Active from" and "Active to" options at main account or dimension level which may cause this issue?

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hi Andre,

I did follow the below steps, no luck

Step 1: remove all the posting profiles (Customer, Vendor & Inventory) and reinsert manually.

Step 2 : validate the account structure and activate

    Good Morning Dr. Ludwig,

The remaining entities on the same data base do not have the issue apart from the new legal entity that's copied. Thats worrying me more to lean towards the set up done for the new legal entity / the data copied using DIXF

    Hi Andre,

Firstly; Thank you for your suggestions on the signature.

In context to the issue; Yes. we did copy the posting setup table level, shall delete them and re-enter manually to see if this can solve the issue.

Apart from having this issue on Purchase / sales transactions, I do get this error even for G/L journals , contra / bank entries through journals.

    Thank you

    Good morning Praveen,

If I look at the screenshots that you shared then things look ok.

Can you - or a technical colleague - have a look at LCS and double check that this is not related to a bug.

I found a number of issues reported on LCS for older AX2012 R3 versions.

Unfortunately, you did not provide more details about your exact system version and what process / transaction you try to post.

So, please have a look at the following site yourself to assess whether this behavior might be the result of a system bug. (requires login)

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Praveen,

First of all, note that you have published your full contact details on a public forum. Any malicious bot can read these posts and start spamming. I would recommend to change your signature.

Now related to your issue. You mentioned that you copied the legal entity. You have an account structure per legal entity, so also dimension combination values per legal entity. If you did copy posting setup on table level like vendor posting profiles, customer posting profiles and inventory posting setup, it might have a reference to a dimension value combination related to another legal entity.

n that case, clear all main account values in the posting setup; save the record and re-enter the main account values manually. That could solve your issue here.
