I have to do the multi server installation for the dynamics 365 crm. I have some queries before doing it. Kindly verify the below

Following are the configurations:

Front End Server Role 1 , Front End Server Role 2
Back End Server Role 1 , Back End Server Role 2
SQL Server 1 , SQL Server 2

1. First, the backend server role should be installed or the Front end server Role ? As per the micrsoft site the installation should start from the Back end first.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/deploy/install-dynamics-365-front-back-end-server-roles?view=op-9-0

2. Load balancer should be configured for the back end servers or not ?
as per the link only the front end servers should have the load balancer where as the request between the back end servers are managed automatically.

The above two needs to be confirmed, for the best practice, kindly advise

    Hello Sabih,

    Hope you are well.

1 - The document you referred is not wanting to force a specific order of the installation. It works either way from my knowledge.

You can install first the frontend if you wish. The differences here is that only the first installation will be with option "create new deployment". All the other 3 installation will go with the option "connect to an existing deployment".

2- Load balancer doesn't apply to backend servers. These will only apply to the 2 frontend servers since these are the ones that receive and consume webrequests. Backend servers will work with their "internal balancing" and you don't need to worry about that.

Please mark the answer if it met your expectations.

    Thank you!
