Use of Kits without components

I am looking in to the possibility of using a Kit without components so that when the sales document is created the user add the components and the price of the Kit.

It seems to work fine when there the quantity of the actual Kit is 1, if the item is increased, when the sale is posted the quantity adjusted on the inventory is only the quantity entered for that particular component and it does not take into account the quantity of Kits.

The same does not happen with Kits with pre-assigned components, the inventory is adjusted correctly.

Example:

Quantity for kit =1 , Quantity for component = 1 Transaction in inventory = 1

Quantity for kit =2 , Quantity for component = 1 Transaction in inventory = 1

Am I missing something on the configuration or is this the proper behavior and I should no be using Kits for custom bundling of items?

Regards,

Thanks, I'll run some tests adjusting the quantity both to the Kit  and the items in it.

    Hello Victor,

Thank you for using Community Forums. My name is Becky and I will assist you.

The Sales Kits Options window is not a bill of materials type window. You need to enter the total number of components you are using for all of kit items not for just one kit. Here is an example, I have a kit that has a quantity of 1 of each of its components. If I enter a quantity of 2 for the kit item in the Sales Transaction Entry window and drilldown to my kit components, it shows a quantity of 2 for each of my components.

If you enter the correct quantity, I believe this could work to create a custom bundling.

Let me know if you have any questions.
