I have one question , In AX 2012 is it possible to main the inter unit receivable & inter unit payable accounts site or warehouse wise.

Else how would i know come to that how much money that i need to pay warehouse wise ?

How or when these accounts will be nullified   ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

What I have realized during my testing is, if you are using Standard Cost and activate "Cost by Variant" parameter on the item, product dimensions (other than site) are also subject to use those inter-unit accounts. e.g. if there are two different colors with different cost, during inventory journal AX will post to inter-unit accounts. Account setup is still required even the costs are the same.(with no posting to G/L at the end, just to use in InventTransPosting)

Two ways, the costing version holds the standard cost, this per site. In addition the dimension group holds the financial inventory, and if set by warehouse it holds it at this level as an average (for example).

Thank you for the reply Steven.

    In the below example

Standard cost at A is $10 and B is $9 it will post the $1..

This is what i did not understand , Do we have the specific option in AX to define the site or warehouse wise item cost in AX 2009 or 2012 .

If Yes , Please share me the path .

If not , how can system will come to know the Site A is $10 and Site B is $9 ?

    Thanks in advance.

    a) No, average with financial tracked by site set would have the same impact, depends on the dimension group.

    b) You would need to set it up, but payables I believe

    c) to account for site cost differences.

    Hi Steven ,

I know that Inter unit payables and receivables are not intercompany posting accounts .

    a) As per the above example , Does these accounts effect when the costing method is Standard only ?

    b) In the above example Standard cost at A is $10 and B is $9 it will post the $1.

Can you tell me 9 $ post which account and 1$ would post which account ?

    c) Mainly what is the use of the above accounts ?

Inter unit payables and receivables are not intercompany posting, they account for cost differences between sites. It is not possible to be at warehouse level due to the dimension group and costing configuration. The accounts will not be nullified, if you move stock from site A to B and the standard cost at A is $10 and B is $9 it will post the $1.

    Hi Lally,

Posting profile setup can't be done by site/warehouse level. However, this is fully achievable by adopting the right approach for your business as a functional solution.

In this case the intercompany vendors and customers setup should be done at the site/warehouse level. This would require you to split your orders at site/warehouse level and there would a manual/configuration level control required to ensure that site/warehouse selected at the order line level always complies with the intercompany vendor/customer's required site/warehouse.

    Regards,

    Dwij
