Pegged Supply production orders - AX 2012

Hello,

Please could someone advise if its possible for referenced works orders to contain the top level project ID. Only the top level seems to have the project ID visible within Production control - Common - Works orders - All works orders. I have the same issue when creating a works order using the Planned works order method.

I would guess this isn't likely something that can happen via standard AX. If there was a way for it to happen, you'd probably have to use "pegged supply" line type for your BOM lines. If you're operating make-to-order, you can use pegged supply line types to link all the sub-component lines to their parents.

The reason I'm guessing it won't work is that master planning calculates each level independently. If you think about it, a particular sub-component may be used in multiple different projects and generate a single grouped planned order to supply multiple parents. In that case, which parent project would be referenced?
