Capturing user security privilege usage in AX 2012 R3

Hi All,
So our company is in the process of re-implementing security roles in AX  away from the standard one's provided by Microsoft.  To help achieve this I am trying to find a tool that will allow us to capture specific users and what privileges they require in their day-today operations within the system. This information will be invaluable and allow us to better define our own custom roles.

Is anyone aware of a tool that fits this requirement?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the Security Development Tool does that.  You can record the actions of a user, clicking on buttons and such, and it will summarize which security objects are required to provide access to that collection of actions.

It's not recommended for use in a production system.

    Hi Hamish,

Brandon is correct. You can execute the actions and record the entry points being used then with help of the SDT. I wrote a blog about this. This would help you understanding this approach.

It is also possible to analyze the records in the table SysLastValue if you want to do a bit of process mining. It contains saved values for e.g. forms, reports and periodic options started per user per legal entity. You will then be able to see a lot of objects used, but then you need to find the related menu items and security artifacts later on. So probably the SDT would be the easiest.
