Quality update question

Hi,

I have an on-cloud environment which is 10.0.0.2, and from LCS, there is a quality update available. When I click the Quality updates, there are a list of binary updates with KB #. And seems that I can select subset of the KBs and save them as a package.

My question is if I only select subset of the quality updates, will there be any issue since I do not choose the complete list of KBs. Quality updates are all binary updates, so it is cumulative update, right? So how come I can still choose only a few KBs from the quality updates?

Thanks,

I test that in LCS, I can choose only one KB and save it as a package.

    But from the article

    docs.microsoft.com/.../download-hotfix-lcs

A quality update is a cumulative, roll-up build that contains fixes for issues that are specific to the product version that you’re currently running

    Do I misunderstand here?

    Hi Yuji,

A quality update is a cumulative.

But it can update the current version or + 1 version.

What are the multiple KBs you choose?

It will support updating to the highest updateable version.

    Hi Blue,

That is my understanding as well.

But I am not sure why I can still select multiple KBs rather than a complete package. Suppose for a cumulative update, it should import by a whole package.

    Thanks,

quality updates once made public would be aavailable in next release of PU but if there are any issues in application which is probably resolved with a hotfix then it is better to select them and apply so as to not wait for the next PU

    All D365 updates are cumulative.

If I go to the Quality update screen, it doesn't look the same than in your screenshot. Instead I just have one button "Save package (n)" where n is the number of fixes in the package.

However perhaps in an older version you could do some selection.

For example if there are following fixes available: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, you could pick "3" and you would get a cumulative package that contains 1, 2 and 3.

But, whatever you choose it's always going to be cumulative until that point.

Yuji, did you try to click "Save package" and see what happens? Please try and let us know what you see. Perhaps it even says that the downloadable package contains all updates from the list.
