Can't delete Journal and Wokflow status is "Unrecoverable"

Hi team,

I have a Journal that I need to delete but the delete button is disabled. I tried recalling but i get an error stating "Failed to find workflow" and the status of my workflow is "Unrecoverable".

Any thoughts on how I can delete this journal?

If this issue causes on a production environment, then please open a ticket to Microsoft since any production environments are managed by Microsoft and there is no direct access from other parties.

Oh man, tough question I will let the experts give in their opinions. My opinion, sometimes data just gets corrupted, it just happens once in a while. You may not need to open a ticket with MS, if you have a developer or if you are a developer you can take a look at the SQL tables in a development environment, do some debugging and find out what's causing the journal to be stuck. Once you figure that out then maybe write a job to correct the issue and deploy it to production. Usually easier to open the ticket with MS since access to production database, aot is not available and have them debug.

What makes it "corrupted"? I'm trying to understand why it's not resolvable by me and why a ticket to MS needs to be created. My seniors would like to know :-)

Ok, that's why the drop down is missing. is stuck in submitted. Definitely corrupted.

I may have to but as Ludwig and Sukrut suggested, the fix seems to be the closest solution but I can't seem to download the package else I'd love to try it out.

Hello,

It may be that the journal got corrupted and you will probably need to open a ticket with MS to get it fixed. What's the workflow approval status on this entry? you may need to personalize the form to add this field. Is the entry being blocked by the system?

Hello,

believe if you go to lines and then edit, it will put the journal back in draft status and then it can be deleted

If you continue to have this error, I would suggest to log an incident for Microsoft Support.
