Pre-Go Live slowness in UAT for huge integration transation

Dear Experts,

I have a very big issue before the go live in next 15 days.

One of my client using integration and approximately we are testing with 20000 journal in an hour from third part VIA Azure Service BUS.

My issue is- I have configured the automatic posting journal batch by using "Post Journal functions" with respective Journal name selection, and the recurrence is 10 mins.

Whole those journals are getting posted automatically, system is becoming very slow, no other batches are running, such as Due date alerts, workflow etc.

Is there any option to fine tune the system to get rid of this issue?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Paul

    Congrats on your go-live.

Journal posting is a heavy process, and I can understand the posting process is engaging most of the resources, to save the resources and avoid slowness, I would suggest you can create separate batch groups for the journal posting and add only one BATCH/ASO in the batch group.

Use this batch group for journal posting, this strategy will prevent the journal posting process to not engage all the threads.

    Hi Ramit,

there is a new feature for posting performance, did you active it?

    Hi Osman,

This feature is not for auto posting, instead this optimizes the subledger to ledger transfer after posting.

    Hi Ramit,

Yes, and as you know subledger to ledger transfer is a part of posting sometimes according to the parameter. how do you transfer your sub ledgers to the ledger?

    Best regards.

    Hi Osman,

Although that feature is enabled, my issue is not with transfer.

I am using auto posting of Journal batch and we are importing around 20k journals in one go, hence the batches are consuming the recourses, as a result, all other things are stuck.

I shall try the approach mentioned by Sohail Sheikh to see if this improves, however I think we have some indexation or fine tuning features are there, I need to explore.

    Hi Ramit,

Are you posting one journal with 20000 lines or 20000 journals with several lines? Can you elaborate what you mean with the system becomes slow? Is the posting process slow or is also the web client with user interactions slow?

Note that the UAT is a Tier-2 environment. Th production environment might have more resources available. Before go-live, you should test in the production environment or get an additional production like environment.

    Hi Andre,

We are posting 20000 Journal with multiple lines, which means the journal lines can be around 50000.

Our interface is fine, but all things like batches are slow, example, DMF framework import, export, workflow, email notifications etc.

I shall take your feedback and talk to customer for another production like env, let see what happens, however don't we have any other alternative?

    Hi

This is the biggest reason for a slow process. the recommended maximum lines by Microsoft support are 1000 line per journal.

You need to split the journal after every 1000 lines.

Sorry, may be I was not clear, the journal lines per journal is only 2 or 3.

20000 journal with average 3 lines, 50000 or 60000 lines in total.

    Hi Ramit,

I don't expect a miracle using the production environment when you need to post 20000 journals, but worth the try. If it is then slow again, you can consult Microsoft Support.
